HEPA Lab Scholars Publish New Study on Generative AI Instruction in SINTA 2 Journal
On September 17, 2026, researchers from the Higher Education, Psychology, and Policy Analysis Laboratory (HEPA Lab) and their collaborators published a research article titled "Generative AI-assisted instruction and college students’ academic self-efficacy, computational thinking, and critical thinking disposition: A six-week pretest-posttest study" in the Journal of Vocational, Informatics and Computer Education (Vol. 4, No. 3).
The publication is co-authored by Jiani Wu, Yundong Wu, Ruofan Lin, Ying Chen, Shun Guo, Tingting Lv, and Weijian Kong.
As Generative AI rapidly reshapes educational environments, understanding its empirical impact on students' higher-order cognitive skills and psychological attributes is critical. This study evaluates the effect of a six-week Generative AI-assisted instructional intervention on college students, measuring key outcomes in academic self-efficacy, computational thinking, and critical thinking disposition.
